TIL: If you were to put Saturn in water, it would float!

Saturn is the second largest planet in our solar system. Turns out that most of it is gas which make it less dense than water. all this means that if it were possible to find a big enough body of water, Saturn could float in it.

TIL: Rich ancient Egyptians slept with neck supports rather than pillows to preserve their hairstyles.

The headrests could be made from a variety of materials, including ivory, marble, stone, ceramic or wood. Ancient Egyptians tended to view death as an eternal kind of sleep so as a result, many of the headrests found in Egyptian tombs were inscribed with the owner’s name and epithets.

TIL For one minute each night, skyscrapers, tugboats, hotels, a yacht club and police cruisers send a blinking goodnight message to sick kids inside a children’s hospital.

Six years ago a small group of lights would appear near the hospital to show the message but now numerous lights are seen along the coast and in the surrounding buildings. Some buildings have even installed automated lights that will blink at 8;30pm each night. The hospital has an open view of the harbor making it easier to see the lights from the boats.
